Over the years, Hawaii has become the world’s largest botanical garden. Since the Polynesians first reached its shores, untold thousands of plants have arrived from all parts of the world, finding a perfect home in its varied tropical microclimates. In addition to introduced plants, much hybridization has produced innumerable new Hawaiian varieties. Hawaii simply has the ideal climate, fertile soil and abundant rainfall for healthy robust growth of many of the sought after interiorscape plants.

Interiorscape addresses our current need for more conscientious green space in our daily living. Planned into the Herzog & DeMeuron’s Miami Art Museum is the concept of a ‘Living Building.’ It brings the natural elements of the park into the territory of the museum. Very innovative horticultural techniques were adapted whereby the interiorscape was literally rooter into the structure of columns and brace frames of the building. A vegetated, cooler ‘Outdoor Interior’ reduces the museum’s total energy load inside. Interiorscape promises to be a vibrant industry fixed into the wellness of future interior designs.

The main plant groups include:
Anthuriums, Bromeliads, Dracaenas, Palms amongst others. Some creatively composed multiple stemmed ‘character stumps’ are representative of exceptional plant design. Most plants are available in different pot sizes (6”, 8”, 10”, 12”, etc.) and/or by height selection.
