The Hawaii Floriculture & Nursery Association (HFNA) is holding a floral design challenge with our new Hawaii Tropical Flower Box. We will accept the first fifty (50) entrants into the competition. Entries are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The challenge will be to receive the tropical flower box via FedEx overnight service and use at least one of each of the different items in the box to create a hand-tied bouquet. These designs need to be in the “Tropical Nouveau” style, which is mixing Hawaii tropical flowers and foliage with temperate flowers (i.e., roses, carnations, dahlias, other non-tropical products).

Submissions must include a 'recipe' (list of all items used in the design) as well as photos of all different views of the bouquet as well as the hand-tied handle.

Deadline to enter the Challenge is Friday, August 28th.

Flower boxes will be shipped out via FedEx overnight on Tuesday, September 1st.

Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, September 16th.

Announcement of winners will be Friday, October 2nd live at the Fresh Look 2026 Reception and on HFNA Instagram and Facebook platforms.
